A user asked if it is possible to see when the blue screens appeared on the "Top Devices with Blue Screen Events" report in ControlUp. Another user suggested checking the Power and Session Events report, which includes a search function for device name and "BSOD" event type. A screenshot provided shows 4 events, but some may be duplicated. The recent Agent beta allows for capturing blue screens using WER files. A user suggested adding the information on when the blue screens occurred as a hover feature in the "Top Devices with Blue Screen Events" report. ControlUp will consider this suggestion.

ControlUp Logs and Syslog Functionality for Edge DX Users.
A user asked about Syslog functionality for ControlUp logs on their SIEM tool, as they are exclusive users of Edge DX. Another user suggested using API's to extract logs, and mentioned the use of a cloud-hosted Splunk. Establishing Remote Assistance with ControlUp Console
When a remote assistance session is initiated using controlupconsole.exe, it is established using MSFT remote assistance. Later versions of ControlUp (9.0 upwards) use their own remote control mechanism, making it more independent from MSFT. A password is generated by the console, which it then uses to connect to the endpoint. The command executed is msra -openfile, with the file stored in the temp directory.

The issue seemed to be caused by a typo when restarting the service, and the user suggested creating a support ticket and reinstalling the service. URL: cuacademy.controlup.com

Leveraging ControlUp Triggers to Restart Services After VM Boot Up
A user asked about using ControlUp Triggers to restart a service after a VM boot up. Options discussed include Uptime in Minutes and Status column triggers, but it may be best to use a Scheduled Task in the VM. Advice was given to be careful with the equals operator, as it is risky for numeric values like uptime. A further suggestion was to use BIS-F with a custom script looping until the service is started.

A user asked what the preferred place is to put the ControlUp agent in Citrix App Layering. It can be put in the base layer (the OS layer) or the Platform Layer. It can be put in an App Layer as well, but there have been customers with issues, so it's best to try it and check to see if it works and if all metrics are working.
