Troubleshooting Citrix VDI Sessions with FSLogix and the ControlUp ALD Script

Posted on April 17, 2026

A team member asked about the ALD script on Citrix VDI sessions with FSLogix – it doesn’t list individual AppX packages, but a warning says that package load times may not show for subsequent logins. Suggestions were given, including a ControlUp blog post on FSLogix optimization and checking specific Event Viewer channels to ensure logs are enabled and have enough space. A team member was also mentioned as being able to help with this issue.

Read the entire ‘Troubleshooting Citrix VDI Sessions with FSLogix and the ControlUp ALD Script’ thread below:

Looking into login times with the ALD script on Citrix Non-persistent VDI sessions with FSLogix. It doesn’t list the individual AppX packages though. At the bottom is shows:

"WARNING: No AppX Package load times were found. AppX Package load times are only present for a users first logon and

may not show for subsequent logons."

Is there a way to get those load times somehow?

this may help – https://www.controlup.com/resources/blog/fslogix-appx-optimization-analysis/

and Gemini suggest to :

The ALD script pulls from specific Event Viewer channels. If these aren’t configured to be "verbose" or if the logs are too small and overwriting themselves, you’ll see that warning.

• Log Channels to Check:

Microsoft-Windows-AppXDeployment-Server/Operational

Microsoft-Windows-AppReadiness/Operational

• Action: Ensure these logs are enabled via GPO and increase their size (at least 50MB for VDI hosts). If the logs are full, the script simply finds nothing.
