This week’s Widget Wednesday focuses on updates across the Dashboard Gallery, including usability improvements, a streamlined approach to Microsoft Copilot readiness, and the introduction of a critical new dashboard for Windows Boot Certificate migration.
The episode starts with a quick review of smaller updates to existing dashboards, including the DEX Trending Dashboard and the Application Version Detail Dashboard, both focused on bug fixes and overall quality improvements.
What’s new in this episode:
Microsoft Copilot Readiness, simplified:
The Microsoft Copilot Readiness Dashboard has been enhanced to capture NPU compatibility data automatically. Previously, this required running a script, but now there are no prerequisites to assess readiness. This provides immediate visibility into your organization’s readiness for Microsoft Copilot Plus.
Crashes Dashboard improvements:
Updates to the Crashes Dashboard now display application names alongside process names via backend changes. This improves clarity on the overview screen and makes it easier to understand crash data without additional interpretation.
Grid Viewer preview:
The episode also previews upcoming Grid Viewer integration, which will enable raw, unaggregated data views within dashboards. This will provide more flexibility when analyzing crash data in detail.
Windows Boot Certificate Migration Dashboard:
A new Windows Boot Certificate Migration Dashboard has been introduced to help manage Microsoft’s upcoming boot certificate changes. This dashboard allows teams to track which devices are updated, which are ready, and which still require action to remain bootable.
Automation and remediation:
The video also covers a remediation script that can automatically update devices that are ready but have not yet completed the certificate upgrade. Combined with workflows, this enables recurring, automated remediation and reduces manual effort.
Why it matters:
These updates improve visibility and reduce friction in two key areas: preparing for Microsoft Copilot adoption and ensuring devices remain compliant with upcoming boot certificate changes. The result is faster insight and more actionable control over critical system readiness.
