A user asked about permissions in VDI App versus RTC and mentioned having different accounts. Another user requested for more information. A third user chimed in, explaining that the web console will not work like RTC and will have different functionality. The Dev team is working on bringing over all RTC features, but it cannot be done in the same way. Customers have been asking for certain features that are not possible with the RT console.

So silly question about permissions in the new "VDI App
versus RTC. I have 2 accounts, regular normal AD/Azure account and an admin account. What I do with RTC is publish it as an app so I can run it from my VDI as my regular user, but the RTC runs as my ADM account. Everything works great. I can RDP, Run Event Viewer, Controllers – all those RTC actions run as my ADM acount because thats how I logged into Controlup. But with the web version i guess it is different. So I login to VDI App with my ADM account but certain things execute with my regular (logged into windows) account such as Event Viewer – it downloads a .vbs script and when i run it i dont have acess to view event viewer on servers because apparently the .vbs is running as my regular account?
Hi Chris, sorry read it a few time and not fully following, @member or @member might follow but would you mind expending on this for me please
@member the web console will not work like for like, That is not possible take for example Controllers functionality is now in CU4D with live remote management – File and registry browser this will make the way for using with VDI in the future, and other elements to come. With regards to the event view, The Events Section in DEX will accommodate this in a different way. We can’t do it the same as if you are activaly on a sever, but the Dev team are committed to bring all the RT console features over but can’t be in the same way. I loved the RT console I used it from 2015 on . but it can’t do the stuff that we want to do and what customers are asking for.
