Troubleshooting with Microsoft AVS and ControlUp for vSAN and vSphere Monitoring

A user asked about using Microsoft AVS solution and ControlUp to monitor vSAN/vSphere hosts. It was noted that Microsoft does not allow turning on vSAN Performance Service "Read" permissions, which is required for monitoring. ControlUp gives back ERR in all the metrics columns. It was mentioned that a jumpbox may be needed for setup and that access is limited. Reducing Network Traffic between vCenter and ControlUp

A user asked about the high amount of network traffic between their vCenter and ControlUp. This could be due to the SOAP-based data collection, which would appear as HTTP traffic. It was suggested to run diagnostics on the data collector to confirm, and to consider creating a ControlUp site closer to the vCenter to reduce data traffic.
